In 2012, Denise Hawkins and her husband Russell began exploring solar energy options for their own property. That interest quickly evolved into something more: a vision for a better kind of energy company. One that would be locally owned, community-focused, and grounded in real relationships.
By 2013, Camrose Energy was officially licensed to sell electricity in Alberta. Natural gas followed in 2016. But what’s remarkable is that even as the company grew, its values stayed the same: no pressure, no gimmicks – just honest, local service.

- Maurina, who joined in 2020, brings warmth and understanding to every interaction. She has a gift for making people feel heard—something customers notice and appreciate.
- Cameron, a recent NAIT graduate, adds a fresh perspective and a passion for solar and sustainability. He’s excited about the future of energy in Alberta and helping shape what comes next.
- And, of course, Bailey, four-legged office mascot and resident treat enthusiast. She’s not much for spreadsheets, but she’s excellent at greetings and tail wags.
