WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF THE SOLAR CLUB®?

SEASONAL
HI AND LO RATES

The right rate depends on how much electricity your solar produces and how much power you use.  Choose the HI Rate™ during sunny months when you’re sending more electricity to the grid.  Switch to the LO Rate™ when you’re buying more power than your panels produce.  Since your production and electricity use change with the seasons switching rates helps you get more from your solar.

PRE-BILLING INSIGHT

Before each invoice you’ll receive a Pre-Bill showing whether you sent more electricity to the grid than you used or bought more than you produced.  If you exported more power, you can request the HI Rate™.  If you imported more, you can request the LO Rate™.  Your rate change can be applied back to your last meter read, and you can switch once each month.  If your meter information doesn’t look right contact our team and we’ll help you sort it out.

CASH BACK REWARDS

olar Club® members can earn cash back on the electricity they purchase from the grid.  This reward applies to purchased electricity and is part of the Solar Club® membership.  If you own an electric vehicle you may also qualify for an additional cash back reward.  That means eligible EV owners can receive the cash back available to Solar Club® members along with the additional EV reward.  Both rewards give members another benefit through the Solar Club® program.

CREDIT BALANCE TOOLS

Credits earned during sunny months can carry forward and help pay your winter electricity bills.  You can also use those credits toward natural gas bills with Camrose Energy.  You’ll still receive a regular utility bill showing delivery fees and other fixed charges but strong summer production can build credits to help cover those costs.  Depending on your system size and electricity use you may see a small balance or nothing owing during some billing periods.  Some members may earn enough credits to cover most or all of their electricity costs over the year.

PRE-SOLAR RATETM

You don’t have to wait for your solar system to go live before getting a better electricity rate. The Pre-Solar Rate™ is a discounted rate for future Solar Club® members who are waiting for their system to be installed.  It lets you start saving with Camrose Energy while your solar project is being completed.  Once your system is connected and producing electricity you can move into the Solar Club® program and begin taking advantage of flexible rate switching to get the most out of your solar.

A Note About Prudentials

Some discounted plans may require a prudential, which is a fully refundable security deposit. It helps protect against missed payments and allows us to offer added savings. As long as your account stays in good standing, the deposit will be returned when the plan ends or added as a credit toward future bills. We’ll explain everything before you sign up, so you’ll know how it works.

WHAT IS A SITE ID AND WHY DO I NEED IT FOR SIGN UP?

Your Site ID is a 13 digit number that shows the electricity or natural gas service location for your Alberta home, farm, or business.

You’ll need this number when you switch to Camrose Energy. It helps us make sure your new electricity, natural gas, or Solar Club® plan is connected to the right meter.

You can usually find your Site ID on your current utility bill. If you don’t have it handy, you can use our lookup tool by entering your address and town.
