HOW DO I USE PRE-BILLING AND PICK THE RIGHT SOLAR CLUB RATE?

  • Watch for your Pre-Bill email before each invoice. It shows if you were a net exporter or net importer that period.
  • If you exported more than you used, request the HI Rate. If you imported more than you generated, request the LO Rate.
  • Your rate change can be applied back to your last meter read, and you can switch once per month.
  • If meter data looks odd, our team will help you sort it out so you are on the best rate for your usage.

WHAT IS THE SOLAR CLUBTM?

WHAT ARE THE BEST SOLAR RATES IN ALBERTA?

The “best” rate depends on your production and usage. Micro-generators often choose the HI Rate during sunny months and the LO Rate when they are buying more from the grid. Check current Solar Club postings and your Pre-Bill to decide.

WILL I STILL HAVE AN ELECTRICITY BILL IF I GO SOLAR?

You will still see delivery and fixed charges, but strong summer exports can create credits that help cover winter costs. Some Members report near-zero electricity charges during high-production periods, depending on usage and system size.

HOW CAN I REDUCE MY ELECTRICITY BILL WITH SOLAR?

Produce as much solar power as your site allows, monitor both your electricity draw and panel output, and use that information to stay efficient. Switch to the HI Rate when you export more than you use, choose the LO Rate when importing, carry credits forward, and review your Pre-Bill each month to pick the best setting for maximum savings.

HOW LONG DOES A SOLAR INSTALL TAKE TO PAY FOR ITSELF?

Payback varies by system size, sunlight, and electricity pricing but with the Solar ClubTM and good energy habits, may customers reduce their solar payback time to as little as 6 years.

IS A ZERO ELECTRICITY BILL POSSIBLE?

It can be. High production seasons and energy efficient planning, coupled with the Solar Club’s HI Rate, often allows Members to earn enough credits to offset their bills during low production months – meaning a zero electricity bill all year round.

Your Site ID is a 13-digit number that uniquely identifies the electricity or natural gas service location for your Alberta home, farm, or business. You’ll need this number to switch to Camrose Energy so we can connect your new electricity, natural gas, or Solar Club™ plan to the correct meter.
