Camrose Energy offers electricity and natural gas plans for Ponoka homes, farms and small businesses along with Solar Club^® rates for approved solar micro-generators. We’re locally owned and based in Camrose. You can choose one utility or bring both accounts to us.

You’ll deal with a small Alberta company that takes the time to talk through an account. We can compare our rates and administration fees with your current plan, explain any deposit and give you time to think it over. If that comparison doesn’t show a saving we’ll say so.

There’s no enrolment fee or exit penalty with Camrose Energy. Our Community Connections Program also puts part of our profits toward Alberta events, groups and projects. Local organizations can apply through the program for sponsorship of events and community projects.

PONOKA ELECTRICITY OPTIONS TO FIT YOUR NEEDS

You can choose a guaranteed electricity rate that holds your price per kilowatt-hour steady for the selected term. Variable plans are also available if you’d prefer a price that follows the market. Our team can confirm the current rates and terms for a household, farm or eligible small business account.

Discounted electricity plans require a refundable deposit called a prudential. Base plans don’t require that deposit, so you have a choice about paying money up front for a lower rate. We’ll explain the deposit amount and refund terms alongside the price and monthly administration fee.

NEED NATURAL GAS SERVICE IN PONOKA?

Our Ponoka natural gas options include guaranteed and variable rates. A guaranteed plan sets the price per gigajoule for the term, while a variable plan changes with the gas market. If you’re comparing variable offers, we’ll include the transaction fee in the comparison so you’re looking at the full gas rate.

You can choose natural gas on its own or have electricity and gas together on one bill. Discounted gas plans are available with a refundable prudential, including variable options with a lower transaction fee. For a farm or business account, we’ll confirm the deposit using the account’s usage before you sign up.

SOLAR RATES FOR PONOKA HOMES, FARMS AND BUSINESSES WITH SOLAR CLUB^®

Solar Club^® offers approved solar micro-generators HI and LO electricity rates. The HI Rate can make sense when your property exports more electricity than it buys. When you’re buying more than you’re exporting, the LO Rate may be a better choice. The rate you choose applies to both electricity bought and electricity exported. We’ll help you look at those figures together when you’re considering a change. You can submit a rate request through your online account, or contact us if you’d like help with it. A credit balance from solar production can stay on your account and help pay future invoices. There are also options for transferring an eligible credit balance to other electricity or natural gas accounts you hold with us. Ask our team about the requirements and how to set that up.

SERVING PONOKA AND RURAL PONOKA COUNTY

Alongside household accounts in Ponoka we can check plans for local shops, offices and farms in the surrounding county. If you’re arranging utilities for several properties include the service address or Site ID for each. We’ll check the locations individually so you know which accounts we can accept.

We can’t supply natural gas to properties served by a gas co-op, and some Rural Electrification Associations restrict electricity retailer choices. For a rural property, your County blue-sign address can help us identify the location when checking availability. Send that address or your Site IDs and we’ll confirm the options before enrolment.

Call (780) 781-4115 or fill out the form below and tell us which services you’re interested in. For signup you’ll need the service address and a 13-digit Site ID for each utility. You can usually find those numbers on a current bill and we can help look them up if you don’t have them.

If you’re switching companies check your current agreement for cancellation charges and notice requirements. With Camrose Energy you can cancel without penalty by submitting the cancellation form through your online account with 10 business days’ notice. If you’re moving contact us ahead of time so we can check the dates and arrange the new account.

If you’d prefer a regular date for bank withdrawals, ask us about Pick-A-Date during signup. The available dates depend on your billing schedule, and our team can explain the choices. Your invoices will also be available through your online account.
