Camrose Energy offers electricity and natural gas plans for Sherwood Park homes and small businesses, along with Solar Club® for qualifying solar micro-generators. We’re a locally owned Alberta company based in Camrose. You can choose us for electricity, natural gas or both services together.
Call before you decide and we’ll compare the energy rate, administration fee, rate term and any prudential deposit. That gives you the information needed to judge the plan as a whole. We can also help if you’re opening an account at a new Sherwood Park address or getting ready to move.
When you contact Camrose Energy, you’ll reach our team in Camrose. Denise, Maurina and Cameron can answer questions about current rates, signup, invoices and changes to an existing account. You’ll know who you’re dealing with and where to call again.
We’ll use a recent bill to compare the retail costs in front of you. That includes the energy rate, administration fee and any refundable prudential needed for the plan. If we don’t find a useful reason for you to change, we’ll be direct about it.
Camrose Energy doesn’t charge an enrolment fee or an exit penalty. You can cancel through your online account with 10 business days’ notice without waiting for a guaranteed rate term to end. Our Community Connections Program also directs part of our profits to Alberta events, local groups and community projects.
The Rate of Last Resort is the default electricity rate for Alberta customers who haven’t selected a competitive retailer. It replaced the former Regulated Rate Option in 2025. If your Sherwood Park account is on the default rate, you can compare it with the plans available from Camrose Energy.
A guaranteed plan keeps the electricity price per kilowatt-hour steady for the term you select. A variable plan follows the Alberta electricity market, so the price can change between billing periods. We’ll show you the current prices and explain what happens at the end of a guaranteed term.
Base electricity plans are available without a prudential deposit. Discounted plans offer a lower energy rate and require a refundable prudential that earns interest while it’s held. Before you enrol, we’ll confirm the amount, the refund terms and the administration fee for both choices.
Our guaranteed natural gas plans hold the price per gigajoule for the chosen term. Variable plans move with the gas market and include a transaction fee in the rate calculation. Looking at both parts of the variable rate gives you a fairer comparison.
You can select a base gas plan without paying a prudential deposit. Discounted gas plans require a refundable prudential and may offer a lower energy rate or transaction fee. Prudentials for business accounts depend on usage, and we’ll confirm the amount before signup.
Natural gas can be enrolled on its own, even if your electricity stays with another company. If you choose Camrose Energy for both services, the electricity and gas charges can appear on one bill. Our team will list the rates and fees before you submit the application.
Solar Club gives qualifying small solar micro-generators a HI Rate and a LO Rate. The HI Rate may fit a billing cycle when the property exports more electricity than it buys, while the LO Rate may fit when it buys more than it exports. Your chosen rate applies to both purchased electricity and export credits. If you’ve signed an installation agreement but your solar system isn’t operating yet, ask about the Pre-Solar Rate™. This temporary plan is available for up to 180 days, subject to installation scheduling and other qualification rules. A referral code from the solar installer is required when you apply. Once you’re in Solar Club, rate changes can be requested through the online account up to once per billing cycle. Export credits can stay on the account for future invoices, and eligible credit balances may be transferred to another Camrose Energy account. Membership requirements include a donation to your local food bank, and we’ll explain the rest before you enrol.
Call (780) 781-4115 to speak with Denise, Maurina or Cameron about an electricity, natural gas or Solar Club® account. They can help with a new application, a move, a rate request or a question about an invoice. You don’t have to sort through the account details alone before calling.
Your online account is available for viewing invoices and submitting account requests. It’s useful when you want to handle a routine change on your own. If the answer still isn’t clear, our Camrose office is there to help.
Drop in to see us at 4909A 48 Street, Suite 101, in Camrose. Bring a recent bill if you want us to compare the rate, fees and plan terms using your actual account information.
Sherwood Park is a large urban centre, and Camrose Energy gives local households and small businesses an Alberta-owned option. Our office is in Camrose, where Denise, Maurina and Cameron work directly with customers across central Alberta. When you call, you can ask about rates, fees, Solar Club® or an account change without being passed between departments.
Our plans are available for eligible homes and small businesses in Sherwood Park, as well as many farms, acreages and businesses elsewhere in Strathcona County. Whether you’re arranging one residential account or electricity and natural gas for a small business, we’ll explain the plans and costs before you sign up. The same Camrose team remains available after the account is open.
We’ll compare our offer with your current plan and tell you if the numbers don’t show a useful reason to switch. Camrose Energy also charges no enrolment fee or exit penalty. Through our Community Connections Program, part of our profits goes back into Alberta events, groups and community projects.
Call (780) 781-4115 or use the form below and tell us which services you need. A current bill should show the 13-digit Site ID for the electricity or natural gas account. Each service has its own Site ID, and we can help find the number from the address if you don’t have a bill.
Before switching, check your current retailer’s agreement for its notice rules and any cancellation charge. If you’re moving an existing Camrose Energy account, submit the move request through your online account at least 10 business days ahead. You’ll complete a new signup for the new property.
Your Camrose Energy invoices will be available through the online account. If you’d like bank withdrawals to happen on a regular monthly date, ask about Pick-A-Date during signup. We’ll explain which dates are available for your billing schedule.

Really quite good. A bit confusing on the billing as to what is credit, electricity, and gas on the bill.

We have been with Camrose Energy for many years now. When we opened our store in 2021, there was no question that we would sign up our store utilities with Denise. Recently, I went in to talk about our rates. She explained them in a way that I could understand and we found a way to save some money once again! Her honesty when it comes to clients is admirable. If she cannot save you money by switching - she will tell you. If you are considering making the switch - take the time to give Camrose Energy a call!

Highly recommend. Great personal service. No phone trees and endless waiting on hold. Great rates. I'm super impressed with all the work they've done around my solar system as well. Don't let the name fool you, they'll help out anyone, not just people in Camrose.

Camrose Energy is an incredible asset to our community. The work they do goes far beyond providing a service — they genuinely care about people and about Camrose as a whole. Their commitment to supporting local initiatives, showing up for the community, and making a positive impact is obvious in everything they do. It’s rare to find an organization that leads with integrity, generosity, and heart, and Camrose Energy consistently sets that standard. We are truly lucky to have them here.
