If you’ve already made the move to solar, you’re probably already wondering how to get the most out of it.
That’s where the Solar Club™ with Camrose Energy comes in.
At Camrose Energy, we keep things simple. You won’t get passed around a call centre or stuck waiting on hold. When you call, you’re talking to real people who understand how solar works here in Alberta.
Denise and Cameron spend their days helping customers make sense of it all. No pressure. Just honest help.
Joining the Solar Club™ is one of the simplest ways to get more value out of your solar system here in Alberta.
It’s a seasonal program designed for micro-generators. Instead of staying on one fixed rate all year, you can switch between two different electricity rates depending on how your system is performing. That ability to adjust through the year is what helps Solar Club Members make the most of every kilowatt their system produces.
There are a number of providers offering seasonal solar programs now. What matters is who you’re working with. With Camrose Energy, you’re getting clear rates, simple setup, and real help from a local team that actually understands how this works in Alberta.
A lot of companies offer the Solar Club™.
What makes the difference is who you’re working with.
When you call Camrose Energy, you’re not getting routed through a system or waiting on hold. You’re talking directly with Cameron or Denise, our local solar experts. They work with Solar Club Members every day and actually enjoy walking through how your system is performing and what options make sense.
If something doesn’t add up, we’ll explain it. If you’re not sure what to do next, we’ll help you figure it out.
That’s really what sets this apart. Real conversations with people who know solar and are happy to help.
The Solar Club™ works by giving you the option to switch between two electricity rates based on how much power your system is producing.
During the brighter months, when your system is producing more than your home is using, you can move to a higher rate and get more value for the energy you send back to the grid. When production drops and you’re using more electricity than you’re generating, you can switch to a lower rate to keep your costs down.
HI RATETM
The HI Rate™ is typically used when your system is producing more power than you need. Extra energy goes back to the grid, and you earn credits at a higher rate. Most people use this during the sunnier months.
LO RATETM
The LO Rate™ is used when your home needs more power from the grid than your system is producing. This lower rate helps reduce your costs during months when solar production is lower.
A program for micro-generators that offers seasonal HI and LO electricity rates, cash-back rewards, and helpful tools like Pre-Bill to maximize the value of your solar production.
The “best” rate depends on your production and usage. Micro-generators often choose the HI Rate during sunny months and the LO Rate when they are buying more from the grid. Check current Solar Club postings and your Pre-Bill to decide.
You will still see delivery and fixed charges, but strong summer exports can create credits that help cover winter costs. Some Members report near-zero electricity charges during high-production periods, depending on usage and system size.
Produce as much solar power as your site allows, monitor both your electricity draw and panel output, and use that information to stay efficient. Switch to the HI Rate when you export more than you use, choose the LO Rate when importing, carry credits forward, and review your Pre-Bill each month to pick the best setting for maximum savings.
Payback varies by system size, sunlight, and electricity pricing but with the Solar ClubTM and good energy habits, may customers reduce their solar payback time to as little as 6 years.
It can be. High production seasons and energy efficient planning, coupled with the Solar Club’s HI Rate, often allows Members to earn enough credits to offset their bills during low production months – meaning a zero electricity bill all year round.
Local people, clear answers, and friendly service from our Camrose office. We help you interpret your Pre-Bill, choose HI or LO at the right time, and make the most of your solar investment. Learn more about the benefits of the Solar ClubTM here.
